Soup’s On! Join the Harvard Club of San Antonio this Thursday, August 27, at 5:30pm for:
Under Covid: The New San Antonio Food Scene
An On-line Conversation with Ed Tijerina, San Antonio Magazine & HCSA

- Restaurants are where we gather for special occasions, intimate dates, business negotiations and just to relax. But what happens when gathering together means risking your health? How are restaurants going to survive? Will they survive?
- Join food writer Ed Tijerina (and President of the HCSA) for a discussion about the San Antonio hospitality industry as he shares his insights on the current and future state of local restaurants, what they’re doing to stay in business and how we can help them until we can gather again safely.
SUGGESTED ACTIVITY:
- Since we’re talking about independent restaurants, Ed recommends ordering take-out from your favorite locally owned restaurant. This month is an expanded Restaurant Week and several restaurants are offering special menus of three courses for either $35 or $45. Here’s a list of Restaurant Week specials. And get a cocktail or bottle of wine to go, too.
Here are some suggestions:
Downtown:
Dorrego’s at the Hotel Valencia
Bohanan’s (no Restaurant Week specials, but it’s good!)
Southtown:
Midtown
North Central:
Northwest
Alamo Heights
Stone Oak-ish
Dominion
